Enjoying Summer!!

Whew! What a long and Great summer it has been here at Our Projects. How has you summer been? Spending time with the families, out at bar-b-que's(have had some great food so far this summer), Chicago's neighborhood festivals have been awesome, Dj's have been playing some awesome sets this summer and some great tunes have came our way. With Travelling, organizing, planning, meeting new wonderful people...WOW!        Summer has been nice!

Well moving along to whats the focus the plans and the goals. We have to let you guys know what we are doing after all.

The last we left off with everyone we were working getting setup with the show with Steve Poindexter @ The Martini Ranch Chicago alongside of the db Thursdays crew. We did the show and had a decent turn out for the work that was put into it. We all had a great time and are looking to join with the db residents again for another night of eclectic house music in Chicago. We will keep you posted as we get more information on a future date.

 Travelling the EP written and produced by "Our Projects" for Abicah Soul Muzik was released for PROMO only on July 1st, 2010. This EP contains two tracks from Our Projects by the name of "Get Ready Go" and "Gone". Both of these tracks have the Our Projects "feel" to them. The deep driving drums accompanied by the smooth strings and the rising pads makes you feel as if you have traveled away to a peace of mind. Listen for yourself click this link here.

Now can we talk about the next stage we are preparing to take Our Projects to? So far we have started a lot of good solid relationships and are looking to push forward for the ones that LOVE our music. We are looking to expand the company as a whole with putting together solid departments to ensure that business is getting done in a timely and efficient manner. Their have been requests for remixes to some phenomenal tracks and we are stoked about the projects and cannot wait until we have the clearance to release these to you. The new remixes that are being currently worked on here at Our Projects are sure to remind you of why you are a Soul being.

Reorganizing Our Projects

The last couple of weeks here at the Our Projects camp has been very demanding as well as rewarding.

We have now Broke down every aspect of of the company over the past couple of weeks and we are in the process of re-structuring the departments for a better and smoother operations internally. Up in till this point we have been so to say flying by the seat of our pants with a minimalistic plan. Now we are taking a direction and have a focus for Our Projects to make this a more valuble company for our supporters and listeners.

What Is The Direction Of Our Projects You Ask?

Our Projects is looking to become more of a solid record label as well as Artists from this point. Through many different facets we are looking to become more of a key player in this Deep House scene as it exists. Through education, proper planning and key business associates we expect to be a good quality music service(RECORD LABEL)that can be depended on. At this point we have made some solid releases and have received some very wonderful feedback from our listeners and fans. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!!!! The future will entail a whole new plethora of connections for Our Projects in a whole.


Where would you guys like to see Our Projects in 3 years?

Ellery Cowles: In 3 years I would like to see Our Projects operating like a successful independent record label. With Artists tours and Record promotions going as planned. As far as that goes all of the departments in the label operating at 100%
Ren Van Leer:Expanding on the sounds of the driving drums and the soothing bass lines, to the swooping synths with the soulful influence, lacing the vocals just right, mixing down with a science. To just take all of the tasks that we do in music to new heights.

Back in the Studio with Our Projects!

We have been in the studio working hard these last couple of months so we are taking a slight break down from 4 days a week to 2 days this week..We had a company cookout this week :) good food to boot..Even though we are a small company at this point we sure did cook alot.

well back to the topic of this blog! The studio where our sound is coming from

Ok now at this point we are running a complete digital studio and have both made the mention of how we would like to obtain some analog gear for our home studio that we are currently producing out of..The studio currently consists of (2) Hand built PC's running windows XP, (2) turntables, a 4 channel mixer, (2) cdj's and a midi controller keyboard

.

the DAW's that we are using are ableton, sonar, and Acid Pro for certain remixes..just makes it easier..we have alot of plugins/VST's that allows us to dive deep into our image and the sound that we love..the next update for our studio will be Pro Tools setup which we are looking forward to working with again as well as Reason 4.0.

We have decided at this point to hold back on the release for May as we will be maintaining our focus towards the updates of the studio, remixes, collab work, and bookings for the upcoming months. We have been seeing great support from the House Music scene and we want to ensure that we can grow our sound in music as the House Music scene grows within itself.

Before we go we would like to reinterate that we are striving to give you what we believe you would like to see as well as hear from a house music record label/artists..Till next week be good stay safe...and dance!

Updates from Our Projects

well this week that has past has been a good week for us here at the Our Projects camp. The Real Men Cry Ep is now offically released on Our Projects..this Ep Contains a very diverse sound. better yet it gives you a sample of the way we swing here. We love the Deep sound and we are very spirtual beings so we have no other choice then to resonate that energy from these tracks. The tracks on the Ep are the following:

Jack Knife (original mix)
In and Out (original mix)

Real Men Cry Ep has been getting a Great response from dj's as well as house heds Worldwide..the deep spirtual sounds of Our Projects is starting to be accepted worldwide and we are working hard to ensure that we keep bringing the sound tthat we are becoming to be known for. Please send any comments or feedback to info@ourprojectsmovesyou.com good or bad we want to hear from you!

Also we are currently recycling all of the mixes that have been played live on DreamScape Sessions over the last couple of years so if you are subscribed you have received notifications stating the mixes have been uploaded. please download these for they will not be available again till we get the website fully developed and launched(about 2-3 months).

Hey whats up?
There are few songs in this Ep. The songs included on the Real Men Cry Ep by Our Projects are the following.

The first Track we have at hand is a more atmospheric Deep House Track. We give you our In and Out – Our Projects (Original mix).

The second track we have at hand is also on the Real Men Cry Ep more of a well we will let that one speak for its self. This Track is Tears of a Man written and produced by Our Projects.

Last but not least the finale of this pack, this one here is an Original track from “Our Projects” titled Jack Knife. This has currently been released on the “Our Projects” Label. Find this Ep on Juno.

On The Studio!! with Our Projects

Well here lately the focus in the studio with Our Projects has been more of the deeper house sound with a driving percussion set to move your feet and help you glide across the floor during your long nights..so like I said we have been producing more of the "song" feeling much like "renandel"..needing vocalists bad for some of these tracks..Although we do have some things in plans for this department...Be on the lookout we are going to upload some of the works for a short while to get some feedback from YOU!
