This year was a blast as I look back at this years trip with a huge smile on my face. With all of the greatest dj’s in the electronic scene all in one place was amazing in its self. With sets from Little louie vega, David Morales, Tony Humphries, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles and Timmy Regisford made this year an awesome event to be a part of. To my understanding last year (which we did not attend) was not as good as this year with some of the quality sponsors pulling out and rejoining again this year.i.e Pioneer for one helped this to be a memory for us all in attendance.
As we walked up and down Collins and ocean dr and Washington you heard the love for House music everywhere. And im not talking the commercial side of house either I am talking on the deep soulful tip. With djs from all over the world Chicago, New York, France, Brazil, Italy, Spain, South Africa,and the UK. The sounds and the beats were there to captivate your mind body and soul and believe me that it did.
After all your back drop for all of this wonderful music was South beach Miami, Palm trees and beautiful people and oh yeah like Will Smith said everybody driving around in $100,000.00 cars like that’s the custom. If you have been to Miami some of these venue's that I am going to name off here you know what I mean. The cleavlender dope parties there..main floor, rooftop, club so sweet for the house head to enjoy. Another venue that held quality events this year was the ocean’s ten the system here was amazing and the talent that was hosted here was just bananas. The Shelborne and the national had some major pool parties that anybody I know would have loved to been there. The Treehouse oh man they put on some nice shhh...there. I could go on forever about all the quality of parties that went down during the wmc’s oh and the stories just simply amazing!
In closing if you have not been able to make the journey to the Winter Music Conference in South Beach Miami it is well worth the experience. For the Househed this is a dream continual music being displayed by the well known dj’s and by the undaground dj’s as well. For those that were there they know what Im talking about or if you have been your smiling reading this as you reflect back on your version of the WMC’s. Oh and I forgot...when was the last time you were out and received a peice of vinyl on promo????
